PCN/GP & Community Pharmacist (Joint role) - Ealing
The Role
We are now looking for a pharmacist who is enthusiastic, highly motivated, and above all, passionate about making a difference. We need someone with a proven track record for local surgeries & pharmacies located in the heart of the Ealing community.
This is a joint role working in both several large local surgeries and our local community pharmacy (50/50). The pharmacy is very modern and has a great team of two pharmacists, four dispensers (including two that check prescriptions), and two pre-regs. The dispensing process is further supported by our dispensing robot and the two pharmacist owners.
As well as being one of London's biggest Covid vaccination sites, the pharmacy has a number of services it delivers successfully and wants to grow even further, including travel vaccinations (inc. Yellow Fever), health checks, private PGDs, BP checks, blood tests, allergy testing, substance misuse, flu, EHC, ear micro-suction, and of course, NMS and GP-CPCS. In a typical month, you are likely to conduct around 150-200 service consultations. We have two consultation rooms to support the very high levels of services undertaken each month, and full training for all the services will be provided.
The Surgery Role
This is a patient-facing role, and you will be part of a senior multidisciplinary clinical team at the Surgery/PCN, including GPs/CPs/Nurses, etc. You will also be trained as an independent prescriber by the surgery team and one of the senior GP partners (this is fully funded by the surgery), as well as on a number of CPPE clinical pathway courses. You will be supported by a senior management team of clinical directors & senior management pharmacists.
Typically, you will be involved in various patient care roles, including:
Conducting structured medication reviews for long-term conditions
Conducting clinical audits and implementing recommendations
Online/Telephone/Face-to-face clinical triaging
Management of minor illnesses
Providing pharmaceutical advice and working collaboratively with the clinical team/admin/reception teams
Supporting QOF work at the surgery
Prescribing work, including processing repeat prescription requests
Medicine reconciliation of clinical letters & discharge summaries
Managing prescription queries from the clinical team or patients
The Pharmacy Role
While working at the pharmacy, you will be supporting all pharmacy services and dispensing processes, as well as helping to train our team. You will be a key liaison between the pharmacy and the surgeries. We are passionate about our patients and strive to provide exceptional levels of care and service at all times. We focus on providing outstanding patient care and healthcare in the local community with a supportive and focused team. We have often been referred to as the best pharmacy in West London by patients, GPs, and other pharmacists.
