We have 2 data analyst roles to join our client NHS England (Digital) on a temporary basis

If you have experience of analysing data or have recently graduated and looking for a step into your first role within data analysis, then this may be the role for you!

  • Location: Leeds city centre
  • Hybrid working
  • Hours: Monday- Friday 37 hours a week - flexible hours between 8-6
  • Assignment length: 5 Months (end of September 2023) extension could be possible subject to business needs
  • Salary: £13.84 per hour (annually £26,988)

NHS England leads the National Health Service (NHS) in England

The role:

You will be working in a team of around 12 individuals, most of the team are analysts but they also draw upon other professionals to help us meet the needs of our key stakeholders.

The team you would be joining collect and publish data on a variety of themes including activity, finance, safeguarding, workforce and survey both carers and users of services. We also publish the Adult Social Care Outcomes Framework (ASCOF) indicators

The team work across the sector with partners from organisations and groups such as:

  • Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC)
  • Local Government Association (LGA)
  • Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS)
  • Care Quality Commission (CQC)
  • local authorities

What will you be doing in the role?

  • Code development
  • Data quality, data analysis & interpretation, data presentation.
  • Extract data to prepare tables of data and charts illustrating data for statistical publications and may update dashboards of data using power BI or Tableau.

Skills and experience required:

  • Good working knowledge and experience in the effective use of spreadsheets and databases including use of data interrogation tools and wider functionality such as formulae.
  • Knowledge of how to interpret data.
  • Knowledge of database structures and how to interrogate databases.
  • Knowledge of process design and code development acquired through degree level or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Able to exhibit knowledge of relevant legislation when working with public data such as the Data Protection Act.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard data management or analysis software, such as MS SQL, SAS, Tableau, Python, R or PowerBI.
  • Working knowledge of agile methodologies or relevant experience or training.
